Letter to Sharrod Brown on Health Care

Senator Brown,

I am urging you to vote no to ruining quality health care in America. This bill claims to provide cover to 30 million Americans and will have to use Federal government subsidies to do it. It also will increase regulations on health insurance companies which will necessarily increase premium costs or force the insurance companies out of business. This means that everyone will pay more for health insurance; individuals, businesses, and the Federal government via subsidies and as a result individuals and businesses again through increased taxes. Nowhere is there any mechanism to actually lower health care costs. Some simple ideas that we should try before drastically overhauling a system that 200 million Americans actually like are; a la carte health insurance to allow individuals to choose to pay for what they think is worth covering, allow health insurance companies to compete across state lines increasing competition and lowering premiums, make all health care expenditures for everyone tax deductible, tort reform to reduce the estimated 25% cost of defensive medicine, and yes, insurance reform to prevent insurance companies from dropping patients that develop an expensive condition. If you truly care about the welfare of America and We the People, you must vote against this health care bill.

It's not too late to do the right thing.

Your constituent,

Aaron Norton

On Afghanistan

On one side is General McCrystal in full uniform standing on an outline of Afghanistan saying 'We need more troops and we can win!'.  On the other side is Joe Biden in a lawn chair, hawiian shirt, and sunglasses sipping on an umbrella drink saying 'No you don't!'  And Obama in the middle, with his hands up in a shrug with a confused look on his face.

On America's Place in the World

Title caption: Redefining America's place in the world

There is a list titled 'The World' with an obviously recently empty space at the top followed by name signs in a column saying China, France, Russia, Germany, Iran.  And President Obama, with the United States sign in hand, placing it at the bottom.

The World
     recently departed___
China
France
Russia
Germany
Iran
United States?

Is this the new role Obama has planned for America?

Sombody draw it!

Political Cartoons on Health care reform

Since I can't draw, this is my political cartoon in words.
President Obama, with a smile on his face, is preparing to stick a worried patient, labeled the American people, with a very large scary syringe labeled Obamacare, while saying, 'This won't hurt a bit.'

Somebody draw it please

Less Government, More Freedom

The Federal government should do nothing that a state government can do for itself

A state government should do nothing that a local government can do for itself

A local government should do nothing that the people can do for themselves

Every level of government between the people and the decision being made for them is less freedom the people have

The Party of Freedom

Perhaps the single biggest problem the Republican Party faces is that it has not defined itself in the minds of the American people. In contrast, the Democrat Party has defined itself as the party of caring, compassion and aid to the downtrodden. The accuracy or plausibility of the statement does not matter. Republicans, by not defining themselves, have let Democrats and the media do it for them, as the opposite of caring, compassion and aid to the downtrodden.

We need to re-define ourselves.

The Republican Party is the party of freedom.

Freedom to keep the money you earn.

Freedom to use your money the way you think is best.

Freedom to live without government interference.

Freedom from government.

Every issue we support in every campaign, in every argument, should be obviously tied to this defining idea. Make it clear in the minds of Americans that, agree or disagree, the Republican Party is not the party of business, not the party of the rich.

The Republican Party is the party of freedom.
